As one of Samsung’s entry-level Blu-Ray models the Samsung BD-C6500 offers a fairly substantial range of features and facilities that will allow it to compete quite comfortably with any of its rival players. This, however, comes at a price and for the Samsung BD-C6500 it is cost of the unit, which is higher than most of the other entry-level Blu-Ray players currently being sold.

The Samsung BD-C6500 comes with many of the basic features that most users come to expect from even the most basic of Samsung’s Blu-Ray player range like 1080p/24 BonusView compatibility and Dolby TrueHD support, although support for 7.1 Analogue audio outputs is a surprising yet welcome addition to the player.

To provide storage for all this additional content the Samsung BD-C6500 also comes with 1GB of internal memory and an external USB port for extra storage if needed, and also to allow users to playback video and music or view pictures if they wish.

The claims of being the world’s fastest Blu-Ray player when it was originally released are unlikely to hold up now but the Samsung BD-C6500 does offer some fairly impressive load times with the disc tray opening in 3 seconds from standby and a 45 second wait with most Blu-Ray discs for the menu to appear, which is not as fast as many of the current players but is still quite reasonable.
