Full tour dates announced by Panasonic for the UK 3D Blu ray show

Panasonic is due to launch its nationwide 3D roadshow later this month, which will allow UK AV fans to see Full HD 3D video in all its glory.

In order to give consumer a taste of the brand new technology that will be released in stores throughout the UK in 2010, Panasonic will be deploying 3 mobile full HD 3D Blu ray theatres to shopping centres and various other locations across the country.

With Christmas fast approaching entertainment industry groups are hoping to boost the sale of Blu-ray players by launching a marketing drive to raise awareness about the benefits of Blu-ray.

Gadgets are all the rage in the run up to Christmas, with many people rushing out to buy a wide range of devices including entertainment gadgets such as DVD players and Blu-ray players. With news that the economy may be improving, and that sales levels on the High Street may be better than expected this Christmas, officials from the entertainment industry have launched a marketing campaign that is aimed at improving the profile or Blu-ray and raising awareness about the benefits of this technology.

New BDP-S560 and BDP-S760 Wi-Fi Enabled Blu-ray Players added to Sony range

To provide a seamlessly networked home theatre system Sony have now launched the BDP-S560 and BDP-S760 models that are Wi-Fi enabled alongside the STR-DN1000 AV receiver.

Three brand new additions to its Blu-ray player range were recently announced by Sony, which consists of its latest AV receiver, the STR-DN1000, the Sony BDP-S560 and the Sony BDP-S760. Consumers are offer the latest technology, which includes the very highest 1080p picture quality and 7.1 surround sound along with uncompromising style on all three of its products.

New ‘Big Room’ standards added to Blu ray by THX

The adding of a new set of criteria for the performance of Blu ray disc players was announced at the Cedia Expo 2009 by THX, the Atlanta-based home theatre and professional standards developer.

An up-scaled Pioneer Blu ray player and the first Blu ray disc player from Lexicon will become the first two Blu-ray Disc players to receive the new THX stamp.

Transition to next-gen devices and services will be through Blu ray

The somewhat resigned and underwhelming way in which Toshiba announced the release of its new BDX2000 standalone Blu ray player and P500 Blu ray laptop came as no surprise to many either in terms of the products or their introduction. For many the only real surprise is when it was coming rather than if it was coming.

The assistant general manager at Toshiba information systems, Olivier van Wynendaele gave a very clear impression that Toshiba was not at all happy with having to move into the world of Blu ray whilst at the same time saying that Blu ray was something that is here and now.

CD and DVD a long way from being replaced by Blu ray

Region coding issues resolved by new multiregion Panasonic Blu ray player

A ‘hacked’ version of the Panasonic DMP-BD60, which allows users to play DVD’s from Regions 0 to 7 and Blu ray discs from regions A, B and C, is being offered by MovieTyme, a leading internet based disc importer and is aimed at users who find the region coding to be a issue.

New Video on Demand service to be released for Blu Ray by Amazon

A number of selected Blu ray players and Viera HTVS from Panasonic will soon be able to receive a brand new Video on Demand function following a recent announcement from online retailer, Amazon.com.

Consumers will be able to buy films directly from their player and will be able to watch them instantly in HD on their Blu ray player or HTVS unit using the new Amazon Video on Demand function.

New BD3000 Blu ray player released by Philips

Although there had recently been mention of Philips releasing its BDP3000 Blu ray player, the manufacturer has officially announced that its player has now been launched.

The new Philips BDP3000 is a BD-Live compatible Blu ray player has been released to compete with Blu ray players like the Sharp BD-HP21H, which is currently priced at around £169, and the player is an upgrade from the high quality BDP7300.
