» New BD370 Blu ray networked player released by LG

The LG BD370 is one of a number of Blu ray devices to offer users internet connectivity of some sort and has moved to a slightly more comprehensive range of services than the usual BD-Live service, which is currently in its early stages of development, with its Home page menu offering users access to features like YouTube.

Apart from the new connectivity features that the LG BD370 Blu ray player provides, users will also get the full Blu ray experience with the BD370 also being a Profile 2.0 player. The BD370 has a single silver power button on the front fascia and basic eject and play/pause button, with a drop down flap that reveals a USB slot and a skip and stop control on the right side of the fascia, that give the console a simple yet elegant look.

Most of the connection types can be found at the rear of the player including the usual component, composite and HDMI connectors. The Ethernet port to allow access to the internet via of router is also found at the back of the player. To enable users to stream audio to either an amp or an AV receiver there are both optical and digital audio connectors available as well.

There are five large icons to be found on the home menu that offers intuitive access to the various areas of the player with the added feature of only showing the icons for parts of the player that can be used at that time. This means that if you don’t have a USB stick inserted or a disk in the player the movie icon will not appear.

The loading times for movies on the LG BD370 is fast with the average loading time from closing the drawer to the trailers playing is generally the time it take for the java player to load, which is about 15 seconds.
